Our Journey Through the Years
1967
Foundation of Abdos
- Abdos Group founded by Mr. Ram Gopal Agarwal in Kolkata as Abdos Trading with distribution services for Tata Chemicals, marking the beginning of a long-standing partnership
1988
Entry into the Contract Manufacturing Industry
- Established a unit in Kolkata, which laid the foundation of the group’s evolution in FMCG manufacturing.
1994
Entered the Packaging Industry
- Started operations in various packaging materials to build capabilities in FMCG packaging.
1995
Launched our home care brand for consumers
- Manufactured and marketed laundry detergent powder, under the brand name “Tao”, providing home care solutions for decades.
1997
Manufacturing Hair Oil for Nihaar
- Began manufacturing the Hair Oil brand “Nihaar”, marking our association with the most trusted brands in the market
2004
Strengthening Packaging Expertise
- Started manufacturing multilayer tubes at scale, soon becoming a key supplier for personal care, oral care & pharmaceutical brands.
2006
Global Partnership in Food
- Started processing Bertolli Olive Oil, adding a renowned global brand to our portfolio.
2007
Distribution for Unilever
- Became an authorized distributor for Unilever in Howrah, commencing our 18+ years of collaboration in this business.
2008
Expanded Tata Chemicals Distribution
- Started our operations for Tata Chemicals in Uttarakhand.
2009
Entry into Life Sciences
- Established Abdos Life Sciences, a lab consumables company, with a manufacturing plant in Roorkee, and launched its first product line - Microcentrifuge Tubes.
2013
Expanded Personal Care Manufacturing
- Set up a shampoo manufacturing plant for HUL, diversifying into new FMCG categories.
2015
Global Expansion & Infrastructure Growth
- Expanded the Roorkee plant, strengthened manufacturing capabilities and packaging capabilities
2017
Strengthened Our European Presence
- State-of-the-art warehouse set up in Europe to ensure agile service to our European customers.
2018
Increased International Presence & Collaboration
- Abdos Oils partnered with Deoleo to process Figaro Olive Oil.
- Abdos Lifesciences increased it's reach to 50 countries
2019
First International Manufacturing Plant
- Commissioned the Group’s first overseas manufacturing plant in Nigeria for Lamitubes.
2020
Expanding Horizons
- Established a manufacturing setup in UAE
- Established a new home and fabric care plant in Kolkata
2021
Partnership & Innovation
- Formed a global partnership with Albea for Lamitubes
- Integrated automation in the personal care manufacturing facilities in Kolkata
2024
Contract Manufacturing in Egypt
- Inaugurated a modern personal care manufacturing facility in Egypt, helping us cater to markets in North America, Europe UK, Africa & Middle East.
2025
New Hygiene Solutions for Institutions
- Launched effective and efficient liquid hygiene solutions for institutions such as hospitals, hotels, malls, restaurants, colleges & much more.
- Set up capabilities to manufacture homecare liquids in Contract Manufacturing
